Hi

My turtle is 4 months old. for the last week it has become really dormant and it is keeping its eyes shut. Even when it wants to have food it just enters the water and after eating a fraction of its feed, it returns to the basking area.

This dormancy and inability of my turtle to open its eyes is bothering me a lot. Please help

P.S. I am from India.

I've moved your topic to urgent care. I know you've answered a few of these questions in your initial post, but please answer what you can so the people responding can help as best they can.

----

How big is your turtle?
How long have you had it?

What is the water temperature?
Did you use a thermometer?
Are you using a water heater?
How much water is in there?
Are you using a water conditioner?
Are you using any filtration?

What is the basking temperature?
Is there a basking light?
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on?
What kind is it or what is it made out of?
Is there a UVB light?

What have you been trying to feed it?
When was the last time your turtle ate?

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure?
Is the tank near a window?
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity?

Have you read the Basic Care section?
Have you searched the forums for similar situations?

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms?

My turtle is 2'' in diameter. I have had it for 2 months. The water temperature is around 22 degrees celsius. There is almost 4 litres of water for the turtle. The basking temperature is 30 degrees celsius. The tank is near a window allowing ample sunlight into the enclosure. I have been feeding it with bloodworms. My turtle last ate today albeit quite less. The basking platform is quite easy to climb upon. No there is not a UV B light. I am using a plastic bowl with a basking platform and it has got a capacity to be filled with 6 litres of water.

Can you increase the water temperature to 27F? Keeping a tank near a window with direct sunlight is a bad idea and that will cause large temperature swings. Have you tried to use anything besides worms?
