I've been feeding them the dried shrimp.. Should I cut back on the amount to? Does this mean I should stop giving him the drops?

Shrimp should be a rare treat. I'd stop it completely and use a good brand pellet as his staple. What kind of drops are you using?

No :/ he seems to be hiding more.. It might be because I've been picking him up a little more often. If I pick him up he opens his eyes right away but as soon as he goes back in the tank he shuts them and hides. When they are closed they almost seem transparent

They both get a little frantic when separated.. It seems she's almost protecting him. They have been together since I've gotten them and we have never had any problems

i bought a water heater this morning to see if it may be the water temp.. When i came home for much he had his eyes open and was swimming around just fine, after awhile he shut his eyes and hid in the corner... I dint know what else to do, i hate seeing him sick :( is there a chance he just likes to swim with his eyes closed? or maybe he doesn't want to be picked up or bothered?

Yes I have only kept the heat lamp on.. He stays towards the bottom of the tank and sometimes keeps his head tucked in
