The I believe the reason that she was able to get out before was from the screen on my basking area box sagging in the middle. You can't see it from the pictures, but I bent the screen to prevent the sagging.

Did she ever show signs of wanting to get out before or was it just a sudden behavioral change?

I never mentioned this before, but I am working on an automation project for my tank, and I had left a float switch with some brightly colored wires attached to it on top of her basking box. I think she may have seen it and tried to get to it to eat it. The only time I have ever seen her try to "get out" is when she is trying to get at food, and by get out I mean stick her claws through the screen. For example, yesterday I fed her some red leaf and when I came back a few minutes later she had her claws in the screen trying to get the piece of red leaf. As soon as I move it into the water she stopped.

So I have included some updated photos of Frankie's shell from her fall. At first I was concerned with the appearance of the shell, but the vet wasn't so I guess everything is okay.

April 22 about a month after she fell

about a week after that

Today about 2 months after she fell

I will continue to update as things progress.

Wow, that's a big difference. I was initially worried too.
