Hello
sorry if this post is not in proper place, but i need urgent help with my turtle
First thing first, this is kind of a rescue , the LFS had this turtle in poor setup ( cold envoirnment with just UV-b ) . So they asked me to fix it .
It has white patches all over its body, my pictures are not clear so its hard to see , And its left eye is totally covered in white patch .
I have added Basking Sun (light ), Uv-B and MoonNight Light to the setup , and keeping temperature from 28-29 degree Celcius .
Also i have added MelaFix in the setup.
Planing of saltwater Bath tommrow . Turtle is showing a little bit of RI so i want to skip carrot bath.
Honestly i have tried almost all i can , Now i need help what else i can do to keep this Fine creature back to health.
Its in a 24*18*18 tank with 8 inch water.
thanks in advance

Hi, it's hard to know what's wrong with him. It might be a combination of factors, so hopefully the MelaFix can help. I would also try a very gently scrub with diluted Betadine or Hibiclens.

You can stop using the Moonlight bulb, and try to keep the UVB and basking light next to each other over the basking area.

How long have you had him?

I got him yesterday, the basking light gets hot so i kept it about 6 inch away from UV-b. i was told not to go with salt water bath also ? should i ?
Never had any snapping turtle , i had Betadine (mouthwash) which i clean my red eared sliders sometime , but snapping turtles bottom side has lots of skin so i didn't wanted to do it .
He does not like too much light and moves a little when there is no light , so i think its better to keep the moonlight . at least it gives heat .

Yea, this is not a snapper forum, so I'm not sure if you want to look at a more specialized forum of even ask some rehabbers/rescuers as they might be able to provide more insight.

For the saltwater bath, I'm not sure what that would really do. Betadine we use is an antiseptic, I'm not sure if its used as a mouthwash.

Has he been eating?

He ate today . 2 pellets . there is some guppies in the tank if he want to chase and eat , also some duckweed and hornwort .
yesterday i tried to feed by my hand but he didnt ate . today just ate the pellet and refused to budge mouth for dried worms .

Here is farmecy they have a 1% betadine used as mouth wash .

I would concentrate on having him eat more pellets or fish. If you hold the fish by the tail, see if he will snap it up.

after fungus clearing up its shows his beak is broken , and right down of one eye theres only skeleton ( even theres a missing bone it seems ).

he does not try to snap on anything guess it hurts . i have been giving fine grinder pellets and liquid food supplements, But seems very under nourished. but trying still to feed . cannot get him to open his mouth to force hand feed either :(

Also fungus is now really hard to get rid of , its going from one part to another. curing in one place and appearing in another .

How bad is the break? Smaller chips usually heal by themselves. I would try to make something for him to eat: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17486

Sorry i couldnt update on time.
the turtle is eating now but it does not have any skin or muscle bellow its left eye . when it bites a food it gets out of from that space .
