Urgent Care :: turtles breathing like a frog???

This may be normal, or not, but i just wanted to make sure.....
My baby turtles breath like a frog, they're necks protrude, and when they do, it looks a little bumpy, and light coloured. It's not rounded like when frogs do it, but just slightly bumpy and pinkish/redish in colour. Usually when they're out of the water.

If it's normal, for some reason, I haven't noticed that at all before. I've had one for a month, the other I just got a couple days ago.
I hope it is normal!! I can't take a picture of it coz they run away when i come by Thanks!

yeah mine does it in water . . . but then again my turtle doesn't like us to see him out of the water.

It's normal, and is linked to smelling, I believe.

So glad you asked this! I just got two turtles and one of them does this exactly, happy its normal for some to do

The first time I saw mine do this, I thought, "OH NO, IT'S THE SWOLLEN NECK! HE'S SICK! DID HE EAT SOMETHING AND IT STUCK? WHAT IS GOING ON?!"

Is this a sign of respiratory infection?

My turtle has been well and active but recently like to bask more often.

If it's done infrequently, it's probably nothing to worry about. Raise water temperatures and look out for other symptoms.
