I have a baby chinese golden thread turtle which is the same care as a RES. I also have 2 full grown RES one in a 55 gallon indoor pond and one in a 90 gallon tank. My baby is only a few months old and 1.5 inches - 2 inches she'll length. A couple weeks ago I moved him from his 10 gallon to the 55 gallon pond with my adult res. They get along totally fine! He was eating perfectly fine in his own separate container until a few days ago. He just stopped. I feed him raw chicken and baby turtle pellets. He loves both. But now refuses it all. He also has a couple odd pimple looking things on his limbs. He is NEVER EVER in the water at all. He is always out of it looking for shade away from all light under plants. I don't know what's happening.
Lives in 55 gallon indoor pond
Has UVA and UVB light from incandescent (125 watt Exo-terra solar glow) has both UVA and UVB and basking
Has filter
Water temp is 80
Yes I have thermometer
Basking temp is 90
I use water conditioner
He's a couple months old

I've heard it could be a respiratory infection but he doesn't swim lopsided but he does float pretty much. But he is NEVER in the water not even at night. I cannot go to the vet as it is way to expensive and I can't afford it. Also a new baby is cheaper than the vet. Any ideas would be great. I'd love for him to eat again!

Those long tails would want me to keep him away from RES. Raw chicken is also something that should not be fed, it would be particularly bad in a community tank. I do not know if the bumps are normal, but if they are not then they are probably infectious to other turtles. He might not be in the water if he is harassed. So I would separate them ASAP.

"Also a new baby is cheaper than the vet" -- that might be true, but thats why some keepers no longer have them or try desperately to give them proper care.
