Help, my friend's turtle had both feet huge swollen.
I dont know exactly how he treat this turtle, but he fed with human food, like noodle, rice etc.
He brought this turtle to the hospital and the vet said it got a tumor.
And from xray test result, shown no egg binding case.

Can anyone help this tutle?
Sorry with my messy english

If it is a tumor I don't know if there is much you can do. Did the vet have any treatment for the tumor? I assume it will require surgery.

It could also be organ failure. Hopefully the vet can help... I don't think there is much we can do to help :(

I think the vet also confused with this condition.
And he just give antibiotic medicine.
Maybe he will go to other vet that has specialty in reptile.
About surgery, i really doubt if there is vet with that ability for reptile in my country (indonesia).

Many thanks for your suggestion.

I think it has kidney problem, because of the diet.
I suggest to warm up the water temp, do regular basking in the morning and separate from the others,
beside the tratment from the vet.

Thanks for your attention.

Are there any colleges or universities with veterinary schools? Or a local zoo with a reptile/herpetology department? Is the vet an actual herp (herpetological) vet?

we didn't found zoo with that facilities in our region.
the keeper has brought it to the vet in the animal hospital but they didn't have much knowledge in reptile.
but we already suggest to bring it to other vet that well known in reptile handling.

update picts.

Oh man, I hope you can find someone who would be able to help.

Check here, maybe you find someone who deals with reptiles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sc ... #Indonesia
Also check for local hobbyist groups...
