My husband and I are caring for our daughter's 5 year old RES. I'm normally a cat person so yeah, this should be fun lol

Welcome to the forum! If the cat and turtle are in the same household, be a little careful since cats also like to hang around a turtle's basking lamp

Thanks! 2 of the 3 cats I have show absolutely zero interest in anything related to the turtle. The 3rd one, even though there is more than enough space at the end of the tank with the basking area, he's has absolutely no interest to get that close (I suspect he got close one time and the turtle slipped into the water and it scared him). Instead he sits on the back of my husband's chair and just watch from afar lol
