Hello all. Its nice to find a forum where I can get answers about our free.... $500.00 turtle, he's an African SideNeck (so I believe). Our niece was moving to Canada and the wife always wanted a turtle so we took it. We received a nasty tank with calcium deposits, weak filtering system etc... you get the picture. So we went to the pet store and bought Turbo and new habitat. When I first put him in the tank he was a basking fool then one day I was grabbing him to feed him and we had a little battle if you will. After that he wouldn't bask in front of me and if he sees me he dives in the water. So Turbo now gets fed in the tank to reduce any form of PTSD.

Welcome! Glad you were able to rescue him, though I'm sure there are no hard feelings from the battle Maybe he's an aggressive beggar?

no it was my fault for failing to get a good grip on him
