Hi, just signed up. My name is D. My daughter received a red eared slider for her birthday in May.
We had to learn a lot right away. The turtle was very small. We found out that is was illegal to sell them under 4 inches and it was maybe 1 1/2 inches. She came in a little container. Right away we bought a 10 gallon tank and soon learned we needed a basking dock, uvb/basking light, heater and filter. We are in this for life, my daughter loves her turtle and we know it's too early to tell if its a male or female but she named her May. We are still learning and finding out new info. So I'm happy that we found this site to ask questions to fellow turtle lovers. Thank you.
