Hi, glad you're doing some research first. I think three things that most new owners don't realize is that the equipment will be a bit expensive (especially in the first few years), turtles might require special veterinary care, and they usually need daily attention - traveling may be difficult.

I have done my travelling for a while, and now I have a good job so I can afford to drop some money during the first year. So there are tow things covered, and the next thing will be to look for a veterinarian around me that can work with turtles.
