Hello ! I've been a turtle mom for a year now. Last year I rescued my neighbour's RES and took care of her for a month (had to give her back after), and I fell in love with these amazing guys ! This year on January my neighbours bought me two RES as a thank you gift. They are Shellby and Shelldon Nobody really knows how to take good care of "exotic" animals here so it's a bit hard to get what I need for them, but I do my best ! Since my only source of infos is the internet I decided it was time to create an account here ! I've been stalking this forum for a while now lol

Welcome to the forum! How big are Shellby and Shelldon now?

They are about 10 cm. I got them when they were babies. Tbh I am not 100% sure about their gender, but I'll see in the future

At that size, you should be able to tell the gender. If they're not showing male characteristics by now, you likely have females.

Alright, I guess they are females then ! I'm happy to hear this, I know that males can be a bit of a trouble.
... I'll need to rename Shelldon now lol

Just remember some females can be aggressive too. They also get larger, so you need more space.
