Feeding an outdoor red ear slider

It's name is Michelina and she is energetic.
She is outdoors in a plastic child's wading pool.
I suggested her kids take Michelina out of the pool
to walk around every day after school.
It has a bump on each side of the back of her shell.
She is fed a 3 pellets every other day.
How do we know Michelina is okay or starving?
