Short version:

I rescued a red eared slider from a small pet shop, I didn't know there was a turtle in the tank because the water was blackish green with no filter. He was about 6", he went into a 30 gallon tank until it warmed up a bit, and then he went into a 6' livestock tank with two dozen feeders, of which he ate 6. Then my wife decided he was lonely, so we got a female, larger around 8". She ate no fish, so we have Hooper and Keya and 20 no longer feeder goldfish in a 6' horse tank with about 22" inches of water. Filtration for the tank is a Laguna cannister filter with UV, fed by a 1200GPH pump, filter return is via a 6" X 24" tube full of lava rock. The tank was moved into my studio for the winter today, room temp is around 74 plus during day, water is running around 70, large basking area with a 75 watt halogen, UVB is via LED floods

I mean CFLs, sorry about that, the LEDs are for the plants I'm hoping to over winter, some tropicals, and a bunch of big green water lettuce from a smaller waterfall/pond I have in a shade garden out front, I set up an additional 4' stock tank for them and some tropical fish I keep outside in the summer. I'll have a small powerhead draw water out of that into the turtle tank, and a siphon between the two tanks for the return, the water lettuce should do well in the setup I have, free from the ravaging turtle hoard, but still part of the filtration. I'll post some pics tonight or tomorrow.

That looks pretty cool. Not many people use metal stock tanks here, and it looks better than what they would expect.
