Looks very nice! You might want to add a background to hide some of the wires/tubes.

Hello Everyone

I am also a new owner of a 7" slider. I have a question about the right pump and filter. Our tank came a set with a pump/filter hanging of the outside. The part that goes in the water gets clogged on a daily basis. The pump stops working until I clean out the clog. Is there a better solution then cleaning it out everyday? Would a canister filter be a solution or would I have the same problem?

Right now she is a 40 gal tank. Can I squeeze a year out of a tank this size or do I need to go up in size for her to be well taken care of. Any input would be so appreciated.

Yes you should be worried. I would get it out of the tank! Oops thought that was your post about the 7" turtle. I need to pay attention. I was tired, long day.

Roazbear,
Your turtle will be ok in the 40g until you can get a larger tank. Canister filters will not clog up as your experiencing with the smaller hob filter. Just keep in mind larger is better when it comes to filters.

"Impaction is a real and serious problem with smaller RES and gravel. You may not see it occur but it does happen often and gravel should be immediately removed from any habitat you keep a RES in"
