i recently adopted a baby red ear slider. jus recieved him ( i think its a boy ) tuesday. i have a 20 gallon long tank filled hal f way full of water with a pretty large basking area ( which he loves ). he barely eats. i feed him once a day.... is that enough?? i have feed him apples, bananas, strawberries and some turtle sticks along with turtle pellets that can with him. any recommendations. is there some thing i should change? i dont feed him in the same tank the tank i feed him in a very small tank? is that acceptable? during the day i take him outside to get sun in a baby pool ( i put water conditioner in hours before i put him in. how hard is it to clean a tank with a gravel bottom? how big should the gravel be so he does not eat it? i did lots of research before getting donatello ( turtles name ) so i felt confident but it seems like the more i reseach and learn the more confused i get... please help a lost a confused turtle lover. i wanna do this right and be successful at it.... please dont assume i dont know what im doing i jus want to be sure im doing it right and i confident you wonderfull people will be more than willing to help me

Welcome to the forum. First off NO gravel! If you want something in the bottom river stones are best.
You should also try feeding worms, crickets, water plants and more vegs then fruits. Fruits should be a once a month treat.
You could also try feeding tuna to get him eating. You can also find tons of info on the site about feeding.
