UVB bulbs don't give off much heat if any, and the basking area should be about 85-90 degrees.

What is your water temperature? The basking temperature should be 10 degrees warmer then the water.

Hi Cat and Welcome. I find it rather odd that so many people name their turtles Squirt and Scooter.. lol I guess its like Rover for Dogs. I had 3 turtles gave one to my daughter (flutterby) she got Scooter.. I kept JT and Squirt. :)

Ok, if I'm reading this correctly, you've had your turtles for awhile. Your water temp is just a wee bit too high. It shouldn't be more than 78 for hatchlings and 75 for older turtles. Unless they are ill which yours don't appear to be. The basking temp should be approximately 10 degrees warmer than the water .. usually around 85- 90.

Try to read all the stickies under each topic. They are loaded with very important information. Again, Welcome :)

The water temperature should be about 76-78.

Opps my bad, I'm sorry. I keep mine at about 76, 77, I'll make sure to lower it.
