Hello guys,

i have been on this forum for a couple years thanks to my RES yoshi. My gf's mom works in a library and they have a young turtle that they can no longer keep there. I offered to adopt and now im trying to figure out exactly what type she is. I am attaching two pictures. After doing research for a couple days, i believe she is female (based on eye color), and either an ornate, eastern, or 3 toed box turtle. i could also be completely off. these are the only two pictures i have but i can get more info soon.

thanks for your help!

Josh

Count the number of toes on its back foot. If its 3 its a three toed. If not its probably an Eastern box turtle. To me it looks like a three toed. Its not an ornate.

I would say a 3 toe as well. I am wondering one thing, what kind of bedding do you have? Certain types of wood shavings/bark are poisionious to boxies. I prefer the potting soil/leaf litter/ moss mix myself. keeps the humidity in better. Boxies IMO are alot harder to care for than a res.

That turtle looks almost exactly like my eastern box turtle.
