So, if last year is an indication I expect that as the weather gets colder /days get shorter Gherkin the eastern box who lives inside all year long will start to slow down anyway. Should I try and feed him a bit extra now to give him some reserves for the winter, or just keep as regular a feeding schedule as possible? I am not TRYING to hibernate him. THANKS.

It's really up to you, but I tend to just stick to the regular schedule. Keep the temps up and let him eat if/when he feels like it.
