I find boxies easier to care for than aquatic turtles, but that's just me. There seems to be less maintenance, but temps/humidity and other factors can make some boxies tricky to keep. The diet (for mine at least) is a bit more complex, and providing the space needed (4'x4' pen for one adult) can be a challenge indoors. Do your research before hand. Talk to experienced keepers. Find out as much as you can before you decide.

Austins Turtle Page is a good place to start. They have care sheets for each species, and a more active boxie/tortoise forum. http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/
