Hi,
Ive always wanted a 3 toed tortoise and have recently for the past several months been researching them. I do understand that they live between 40-100 years or more, and that they can grow from 4-8" depending on their genetics, so i understand the commitment. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any adoption or rescues in Ontario. Ive tried finding them online and in the phone book but haven't had any luck. Also if there are breeders in the area that would also be an option i would take, because i don't want to purchase from a pet store, due to how they sell them and they are extremely over priced.
Any help would be appreciated.

I wasn't able to find any in my area. I called all the shelters and such. All they had was res. I ended up ordering them thru the petstore, from their breeder. Cost me $350 each..kinda painful.

Yeah i already called all the animal shelters and all the reptile rescues and came up with nothing. They only had Red Ear Sliders at the animal shelter, which tempted me to get more but I didnt.
The Pet store in my area sell them every once in a while the box turtles but they charge over $600 for them which is quite expensive. I would be willing to maybe spend $300 and then all equipment on top of that.
Oh well i'll keep looking and if i can't find one then its not mean't to be.
Thank for all your help!

Keep looking on http://market.kingsnake.com/index.php?cat=39
They usually have them. That is where I got mine. Most people also ship. Right now they have a lot of Eastern Box Turtle hatchlings.

i found my 3-toeds and kingsnake.com, there's just a lot to sift through to find a breeder in your area.
