Melon, sometimes when he eats or just for no reason at all, makes this quiet noise. It sounds like a snort and a quack at the same time. He doesn't open-mouth breathe and he doesn't make the sound continually. What is this a sign of?

My boxie was doing that for a while. It was almost like a squeak/clicking noise that seemed to coincide with eating. I asked my vet and he said to make sure all temps were steady and to keep an eye out for any mucous, open mouth breathing or loose stool. It eventually went away without further symptoms.

Pio does that sometimes. My vet said that it is like when we eat peanut butter and it sticks to the roof of our mouths. He said that sometimes that happens to them and there is a little food stuck and it is like they are sucking it out. I don't know if this is true or not, but that is what he said. Whenever my older boxies ate they made that sound too.

my boxies all do it too. i notice they do it more with certain foods than others. i was concerned at first as well, but it just seems to be a chewing noise.
