Same thing that would happen to any animal/human....the system would get backed up and it would probably die. Things like that are usually related to impactions or other intestinal problems.

I have had Zeke since July and have never seen him poop or poop in his tank...yet he's still alive so I think he may be just munching on it. Is this a possibility? It could also break down in the water.

My filter obliterates the poo pretty quick too. Sometimes it's a race to see if the filter gets it before the turtles, lol.

That is my turtle Zeke's head shot the day after I got him....Those are his scutes that are behind his head....you have to remember he was a rescue and ate only pellets for 5 years.....so his shell isn't all is should be.

Here this shows it a little better. This was the day after I got him. I love this picture as it shows his vibrant orange coloring.

Here he is a couple of months ago so you can still see he's got some of the same issues but it's growing out. I will try to get a picture of his shell again today.

What a beautiful face. I had forgotten about his past (too many posts and stories to keep straight sometimes...). He's going to look good when he loses those scutes (not that he doesn't already. :)) They don't poke into his neck at all?

They haven't that we've noticed. He got a sore but it was on the bottom of his neck from that scute growing out to shed. He's shed all but 1 of his main scutes, with the ones on the outer part shedding here and there. He's come a long way.

I love the coloring on his head.....he has a lovely additional red stripe on the top! And his shell looks good too, even in the older pics. It looks like he was fed well, just judging from the stretch marks (even if it was only pellets).
