i was about to take a shower a while ago when my mom called me. she was like "yung pagong mo!" which is tagalog for "your turtle!" it was as if something happened. i got terrified.

when i got to the tank, my dad said he just saw the turtle climb up the sides of the tank. according to him, the turtle got up the basking area and sort of wall climbed the glass as if her claws had some sort of suction. after climbing up for a few centimeters, she just jumped back into the water. i was looking at the "crime scene" and true enough, there were sort of wet claw marks on the glass where the turtle supposedly climbed up.

i know i've heard of the superman pose but SPIDERMAN???

has anyone experienced this?

i would lower the water or get a cover so your turtle doesn't escape...ASAP.

They are expert and determined climbers in every situation. Do not underestimate them..

VERY determined climbers. Zeke has a covered basking area for this reason. He also has a top on his aquarium. He has yet to escape but he doesn't stop trying.

luckily her tank does have a cover. i guess i better make extra precautions so that she doesn't succeed the next time.
