Someone at my college showed me a pic of their RES, and she had painted its nails with nail polish! It looked kinda cute, but is it harmful?

I've read somewhere that it's toxic to them.. I don't recall where. Also, you need to resize your avatar to 80x80.. nice pic :)

Thanks, but it looks so stupid now, its too small. Why does it have to be that size, and why do other people have bigger avatars?

You can IM steve who is the owner of the site and ask him why the avatars have to 80x80.. it's in the rules.

i think the avatars need to be on that size because of server space.

thats why I said I have seen others with larger than 80x80 and no one says anything to them.... I really don't care, I was just wondering.

Avatars are not hosted on the site, so it's not a server issue. Large avatars slow down pages when they are loading and they also break the layout, making it hard to read topics. I usually let the avatars slide if they are under 100x100 because the next redesign of the forum will permit that size.

Thank you for resizing!

That's not something I would do because sometimes I see my RES using her hands/nails when she is eating or moving the food into her mouth. I would be afraid of her eating the nail polish.

I would have to ask how your friend was able to get her RES to sit still long enough for her to paint her nails though! It's one thing to paint them, another thing to get the polish to dry without getting messed up! :D

If the turtles are in the water it will more than likely come off in the water faster and safer.

I paint my dogs nails with doggy nail PAWlish. Very cute, but it's made for pups. I don't think it would be a very good idea to try it on your RES.

But, you could take a photo and then photoshop it. Would be just as cute, and safe, too!

I have a mental image of Spot with painted nails. He's a male, and his front toenails are longer than his head. What a sight that would be!
