Hello all: have an inquiry question. My wife says my 9" RES is bored and needs a room mate. She has been by her self since she was a baby over 10 years ago. I have an opportunity to obtain a FREE 4" male RES.

Is it safe to put then in my 125 gallon tank together? how to introduce them so it is safe to keep together? Or should I even try it? Tank is a bare bottom filled to top with a huge basking dock built over the top of tank.

Apprecite help as I cannot take the male back if I take him. Plus don't want to hurt each other.

Turtles do better as solitary animals. You could put some fish in there. ..it will give her company and a snack. :)
One RES named "The Hulk" (named by my kids. Lol ) 4 1/2" SCL
Rescued July 10, 2014 from a waste water treatment facility.

Male RES should be kept alone. You can try it but you will need to have a plan to separate them permanently, and that could mean two separate enclosures.
