they need heat, but they dont need sunlight, they avoid the sun because theyre nocturnal. no uvb required

my python had tics when i bought it, the petstore kept it in a crowded tank thats almost never cleaned.

as long as you dont leave a mouse in the tank for a long period of time, and you clean the tank once a month, i dont think you would have to worry about tics

I know you mentioned "non Aquatic"...

But I like Fire Bellied toads. They only need a little water and mostly land. Just feed them some calcium dusted crickets and you're good to go.

I'm going to have a cheap 10 gallon set up with a half water and a water fall from a small whisper filter. lot's of live foliage. Yup I'm drooling. all I need is $40, more time, and wife approval.

For beginners, leopard geckos are really the best choice. Even bearded dragons are beginners reptile. And they sure are pretty :)

Ball pythons are the best snakes ever! They are very sweet if you are nice to them. Descently clean and gentle but still fun. My best friend in HS had one.

She was the coolest snake I have ever seen. She is the only one I will ever hold.

Ball pythons are absolutely gorgeous. I have two adult green trees and 6 juveniles.
Although generally ball pythons are beginners reptile, you should do thorough research. Some pythons are meant to be with intermediate or advanced keepers.
