I recently just built a external turtle dock for my 2 little guys. its been 4 days and they still have not bothered with it yet. one of my 2 turtles have only gone as far as climbing the ramp half way. So my question is, how long did it take your turtle to finally start using your new turtle dock/chill area?

My guess is that they are getting as far as they need. They have found the spot where there is heat and they are comfortable. With a large external basking area I think it would be a challenge to divide the heat between the ramp for encouragement and the actual place you want them to bask. Just make sure they are getting the UVB where ever it is that they decide to bask.

my turtles did that when i put in a new dock, give them a week and see what happens

when i installed a new basking area in the tank, it took my turtle about a week to finally have to courage to fully climb on there.
