I know this may seem like a dumb question but what pet store is more likely to have RES turles. I'm planning on going out tomorrow to get me 1 or 2 RES but I wanted to see if anyone on here could give me the heads up on where to go Pets Mart or PetCo.

Just get out the phone book and call around to different stores. It'll save time.

Not all petstore workers are created equally. Some people don't know their head from a hole in the ground.

agreed. I was at a petstore the other day and this older guy and one of the sales clerks were talking about some hatching RES's and keeping htem outdoor year round in ponds with Koi and other larger fish and the clerk was saying there was no problem with it and didnt see an issue.

Made me angry, but what could I do. I went and talked to the manager and told him the dangers and how RES's aren't some pet you throw in a pond and hope they're fine.

Well I checked my local Petsmart and PetCo. I had no luck in finding any RES's. Where should I be looking other then PetsMart/PetCo. Believe or not I just moved into a new house and don't have any phonebooks plus you got to know that the Houston phonebook is two phonebooks lol. Well anyways I guess I'll keep looking hopefully I'll find me some RES.

The small specialty shops and mom and pop type shops are more likely to have RES. In Dallas, I don't see RES in any Petco or Petsmart; however, they are at nearly every aquarium store and the small independent pet shops.

I live in Houston and the only place to find a RES is at a flea market or a small pet shop. My friend said he got one in galveston. My other friend bought mine at a flea market.

PETSMART ALWAYS HAS RES AND THEY HAVE A 30 gallon tank SET UP FOR $89.99 but it is only good for actually a turtle under 3 inches (which they don't even sell. So you should definately create your own.. I got a lot of bad advice when I got my hatchlings.

Actually, I think a reptile rescue would be most likely to have RES.
