Other Turtle Discussion :: A couple funny Mr. Turtle stories

I've been in the process of moving into my new condo for a month now. When Mr. Turtle was still at the old place, my friend and I were packing up some stuff in the kitchen. I walk thru the room where Mr. Turtle is and noticed what he was doing. He had propped himself completely upright and was leaning a little sideways in the corner of the tank, and he was sleeping that way! LOL (like this / ).

My second story is after I moved in to my new place. I got him a new bubble thing for his tank. His old one was a skinny tube-like one with suction cups. The new one is like a flat rectangle. Well apparantly he didn't like this new one. He moved all the very large rocks holding it down (I heard this noise from my bedroom and knew he was up to something). He has now propped up the bubble thing up against the side of the intake tube for the filter. How he moved those huge rocks and propped up the bubble rectangle just right I have no idea!!!

I have one smart and very amusing turtle to say the least!!

Yes he definately has personality! I wish I had gotten pics of all of this. He always sleeps in weird positions, hanging upside down off the dock, floating in mid water, etc. LOL

I'm lucky too in that mine has Personality. I let him crawl around outside sometimes (under strict observation, of course) but all he wants to do lately is come back into the house. He knows how to find the back door and he waddles over to it and thumps against it until I open it for him(it's a glass sliding door). Then in he goes. He just wants to explore!

I know it. I've had so many people tell me that they can't see how turtles are very interesting pets. That's until I tell them my Mr. Turtle stories. He has more attitude than my cats sometimes and that's saying a lot! LOL
