Nope, I haven't. I gave him a small piece of banana a week ago, as a treat.

If I give him carrot, do you suggest to steam it for a bit, to make it softer?

You can just make thin slices with the carrot, no need to steam it.

Put some red leaf lettuce in tonight. He doesn't eat from the edges, which I find funny.

BTW, I tried the carrot. He wasn't having any of it. I'll keep giving it to him though, see if I can coherse him.

Oh, he loves lettuce, there's no problems there. He also eats the algae wafers I throw in for the plecos.

yep my turtle will do the same thing with the wafers, so I throw them in very late at night. His light is on a timer so it goes off at 8 every night about about 10 it's a sure bet he is asleep.

I do wonder about his scutes. They're not uniform at all. I wonder how this affects his growth, if it will cause any problems. I assume not, since they haven't so far.

Yes I'm worried about Mikey's scutes as well.. They were smooth when i got him but they've started becoming slightly lumpy. Especially the ones closer to his neck. Will they become alright if he sheds them? And is there anything I can do to make him shed faster or something?!

Review his diet. Being overfed (or fed irregularly) usually does this. If it's not corrected while he's still young will make most of it permanent.

I'm actually referring to the lack of uniformity in his scutes, than the texture, or "pyramiding". I don't feed him any more than what's recommended, and the variety is pretty good.
