Well i have to say that these are not really the FIRST. I had a single DBT winter egg. He was incubated for male since i need another male, and being the only egg in the incubator, made that easier.

Thanks Steve,
No matter how often i hatch eggs, it always gets frustrating towards the end. I was checking the incubator like every hour this whole week LOL

If I can talk my hubby into letting me get 1 more you will be hearing from me when they are ready to go. But sadly it's gonna take some major talking to get him to agree.

Would have made no difference. Turtles cannot be sold or bought in the state of NJ.I can ship to another state though.
I realize this seems like it's turning into a classifieds ad, and turtle talk isn't a classifieds forum.

Anybody curious about the turtles, please PM me.
This post is just to comment on the baby pics and the species.

lol, that's what I meant. was wanting to see one while on vacation, I recall spike saying he lives up there as well and see them in the wild, and seeing hatchlings would have been awesome.

Oh in that case you could have visited the "Wetlands Institute" in Stone Harbor,NJ. They usually take care of hit DBT's or extract eggs from the dead ones and artificially incubate them. They have success saving plenty of hatchlings and adults every year.

Today i was thinking i may designate some hatchlings to be freed into the wild next year once they gain some size and have a better chance of survival. These few selected, will not EVER be fed commercial pellets so they would have no problem finding their favorite foods.Would also need to do some research to find a proper location in South Jersey where DBT are established.
