i don't know exactly what listings it's most pervasive in, but apparantly there's that nigera scam going around craigslist. a friend of mine mentioned it, she's having problems with it right now.

If anyone asks you to deal with them on CL directly through Paypal, be weary! Always verify any emails sent from Paypal are authentic and not phishing emails. If in doubt, forward a phishy email to Paypal and you will get a response in less than 20 min.

I deal alot on CL and scammers are out there. Protect yourself and forward all suspicious emails to Paypal support.
