No one around sells it, and I would like to add it to my turtle's tank for snacking pleasure and hiding spots. Any good place to buy that is really cheap? Like under 5 dollars....

Is it allowed to be sold in your state? In some states it's considered to be an invasive plant and is illegal...
If it's legal in your state, places like Petco or Petsmart might sell it. You could also try aquarium shops that sell aquatic plants.
You could also find on-line retailers if you look.

where do you live? there aren't any local fish shops near you? I guess it really depends on where you live, but in the city (SF, California), anacharis are readily available in bundles for $1.99

Maybe a local garden center. For a bit more, you can get a ton through ebay.

The water fern should be OK. Ask the staff if anacharis is legal in NJ (it sounds like it's not).
If you're in NJ and happen to make a trip to NYC, stop in at a Petco.
