What aspect of his care is too much for you?
You can really simplify turtle care by getting timers for the lights, and then you just need to pop a few pellets and veggies in the tank and you're all set.
Turtle's don't need to bond with their owners like a dog or cat, which is why in some respects they're ideal for young, busy adults. You set them up and they're good to go.
If you'd still like to find him a home, I'd call the local animal shelter and see who your local herp rescues are. Maybe you can work something out where you keep Wilson until they find a good home for him. You can also post ads in papers and online, but be sure to screen the potential new homes. If it were me, I'd charge money for him. Not to make any, but because it will make people think twice about him if they have to spend money and hopefully you'll find someone who really wants to give a turtle a good home.
